Another zing-zang Market Day with proper summer weather and plenty of shoppers to clear the shelves! Beware, several vendors have been selling out in spite of bringing tons of product!

Three weeks running now, Bennett Orchards has NOT sold out before satisfying every last customer! Next week should see their end-of-season Encore peaches being featured. Alas, that signals the end of this peachy-keen summer – don’t miss out!

Here’s an easy, elegant side for your “dinner on the grill”:

  • Peel, pit and halve peaches (½ peach per person)
  • Place peaches, pit side down, on grill (medium heat) 3 minutes
  • Flip peaches, and fill pit with crumbled blue cheese, grill additional
  • 3 minutes.
  • Remove from grill and immediately drizzle with honey and balsamic
  • glaze.  Voila!

We will still be able to count on Wimbrow Farms and Ficner Farms for oceans of corn, tomatoes, squash, peppers, and more. Harry Wimbrow brought some pumpkins this week, with more to come next Sunday! Justin, at Ficner Farms says they will probably be 2 weeks away from their super adorable mini pumpkins. Apparently, the cleaning and drying process cannot be rushed!

Hold on to your hats, cowboys! Steve of Story Hill Farms expects pork products again next week! (Yes, the oinkers have been sent to slaughter!) They sell quickly, so another reason to shop early!

And, of course, our vendors bring flowers galore! Perhaps the finest array of native, amazingly affordable flowers, are featured by our Flower Maven, Dawn of River Cottage!

Only 2 weeks left – be there!
