BETHANY BEACH FARMERS’ MARKET – August 9, 2026
Celebrating our 20th season
CORN FUN-FACTS!
And LOOK to the Fall for
two GREAT PRODUCE DELIVERY OPPORTUNITIES!
Thank you, Volunteer Coordinator Carolyn, for sharing WILD Fun-Facts!
This week I heard about CORN SWEAT from WBOC weather.
Here’s what AI has to say about it:
Yes, CORN SWEAT adds a significant amount of humidity to the air. Scientifically called evapotranspiration, a single acre of corn can release 3,500 to 5,000 gallons of water vapor into the atmosphere every single day during peak summer growth.
We have so many corn fields in Sussex County and plenty of humidity.
What a hot and humid CORN SWEAT day! You all are ready for ocean dips, and she’s ready for FALL temps.
Speaking of FALL, Dittmar Family Farms will offer two produce opportunities:
A FARM MEMBERSHIP and a WINTER DELIVERY program! Please see the images of their flyers posted along with this report! AND look for more details toward the end of our 2026 Season. (Accessible version of Flyers)
When we say FRESH, we mean FRESH! Our Vendors work hard to bring you the BEST Farmers’ Market offerings! Check out our LIVE Reels – Carey Apiary gave us an in-depth lesson on fresh honey and about relocating bees. Davidson’s Rose explained each of their exotic mushrooms. Jackie Blues’ Jackie told us of their process of personally catching, steaming and picking their crabs to offer you the meat, salad, crab cakes, etc. that they make themselves. Lots of stories in those FaceBook Live Reels, and in the photos we share!
Your Summer Cookouts become BBFM Celebrations – Look for FRESH offerings to make your table FESTIVE, FRESH & Summery Delicious! (How many times is the word ‘FRESH’ used in this Report?!)
