Grey skies, but smiles and flowers shone brightly!
Blueberry Season is in full swing, and Bennett Orchards expects to have plenty this Sunday.
By the way, all of our vendors are subject to random farm visits from the Board. Bennett Orchards welcomed us this week, with a thorough tour of their orchards and operations. We found a well maintained orchard, with an amazing process to hand-select only the finest blueberries to present to our Market. Thank you, and kudos to you and your committed staff to provide excellent product!
Hudson’s Produce will have squash, potatoes, beets, and think string beans will arrive – yay!
EGG ALERT!
Hudson’s and also Celtic Acres bring eggs to the market, but they sell out quickly. Eggs tend to stay under the radar, so be sure to ask.
Speaking of under the radar, Connor, of Davidson Exotic Mushrooms was AWOL this week. We hope he will resurface this Sunday, along with our sorely missed cook station. The Shroom Maven is otherwise occupied, but her crack staff will offer one of her no-fail delicacies!
Herbs, Spice, Everything Nice as always sells an amazing array of – you guessed it! – herbs! You will also see kooky looking organic carrots and hakurei turnips – delectable!
Always engage our vendors on tips for preparing their bounty. They know their product, and they actually eat it!
Don’t forget to swing by Lavender Fields. Beyond headache remedies, chapstick, soaps, and lotions, they also have some of my favorite seasonings, and scones to boot!
Ficner Farms has beautiful zinnias right now, pickling cukes, squash, and much more. I grabbed kohlrabi – recipe to follow, and a pot of Micro Tom tomatoes – supposedly the smallest on this planet. I will plant, and report later in the season. I have high hopes!
CLEARLY WE HAVE A TON OF GREAT STUFF SEE YOU THIS SUNDAY – 8AM TO 12!
Make sure you check out the photos from our opening market.
