The Market Report
It seems we were just in the Middies yesterday, and all of a sudden we will be saying goodbye to our summer loves – local berries, peaches, squash, green beans, and others. A couple of more weeks left – it is time to think about stocking up for winter. Yikes!
According to my trusty big sister (married to a greek gourmet), this is easy:
Greek Green Beans
Saute onions and garlic in olive oil. Add chopped tomatoes – any variety that our farmers offer (and there are many tasty and colorful ones to choose from), along with snapped green beans. Simmer another 15 minutes for al dente. Season to taste, and crumble a bit of feta if you are a fan! – great over rice, or with bread for sopping. OPA!!!!!
Madam Shroom will be back this Sunday with a delectable treat to sample, and recipes galore!
Old World Breads will feature Peach Turnovers, along with their usual array of bodacious breads!
WE ARE STILL TRUCKIN’!!!!
