How Hot! was it?!

By Market Reporter Nancy

How Hot! was it?!  According to PNC Bank it was 99 degrees – I would have guessed 110 degrees!

We had another great crowd, and amazingly no one looked wilted – just like our fabulous flowers and produce!

Bennett Orchards will have Free Stone peaches next week, and Parsons Farms expects to have more blueberries, along with peaches.

Hudson’s Produce tells me their string beans will be coming to an end soon, but heirloom tomatoes are booming!

Davidson’s Exotic Mushrooms grilled portobellos for us, in spite of the heat, and plan to cook it up again next week – always a treat!

Wimbrow Farms has cantaloupes, Sugar Cubes, and next week seedless watermelons. We are ready!

Don’t miss the Dream Team holding down the fort at Magee Farms – Donna and Bucky. Say hello, and grab some of their bi-colored corn – sweet enough to eat raw!

Ficner Farms just might be picking their Mountain Fresh tomatoes next week – we can only hope. It is tomato time – what we suffer through winter for!

A shout out to Bob with Herbs, Spice, and Everything Nice. Get thee well, and thy cranky heinie back to the market – you are missed!

STAY COOL! – See you Sunday!
