Mother Nature’s interpreters, indefatigable meteorologists, bluffed us this Sunday
With a clang of the cowbell, and a rousing “Woo-Hoo!” from Dave Wiley, the 2022 season opened under blue, but breezy skies!
Bethany Beach Farmers’ Market Brings New Excitement for 2022
Summer 2021 – where did you go?!! Our closing Market this season started with a cool, pleasant cloud cover that busted into a brilliant, perfect beach day!
The relentless humidity refused to lift, but thankfully the scorching sun hid behind clouds all morning. A brief mist of rain fell at one point – just a sweet summer kiss!
The Market was bookended Sunday with rain to kick off things, then a deluge that hit with a vengeance to bring an abrupt, early close.
After a week of August heat – air that was barely breathable – Mother Nature took pity and gifted a day where clouds gave way to reveal a proper summer sun without malice.
We had record-shattering attendance again with 2,403 shoppers! That is almost 15 times the population of Bethany Beach in 1960! Bennett Orchards had a banner day with peaches galore; and yes, nectarines have arrived! This splendiferous fruit will be back again next...
We had a bit of rain early on, but no one melted
Peaches rule right now! And Bennett Orchards has boat loads at the Market!
