PNC Bank posted a temperature of 97 + a dew point of 78 = HOT! HOT! HOT!
We almost lost a couple of soldiers, but I am happy to report that all have recovered!
We are now in full season – all of your favorite local produce is in! This should stand for weeks to come; we just had week 8 of our 14-week season. Please beware – some of our favorites sell out fast! The much-anticipated white peaches sold out in 1 hour and 45 minutes.
This week’s tomato sandwich taste test was provided by Hudson’s Produce and was succulent! It appears that this is going to be a great year for tomatoes. Yay!
Fresh Harvest Hydroponics still sells out, and their Wheatgrass Shots are snapped up quickly. Don’t miss out on a shot to see you through the day!
Herbs, Spice… has organic sugar baby watermelons, heirloom tomatoes, and, of course, a great selection of herbs. Dave and Bob are a wealth of information – just try to stump them!
Honey Bee Lake Apiary has honey, honey, honey, along with Honey Bee Pollen, lip glosses, and their various yummy baked goods!
Old World Breads will be bringing their fresh fruit pastry tarts. Get ready for a party in your mouth!
Bennett Orchards is coming into the height of their peach season. Believe it or not, it’s time to think about stocking up and storing. Don’t hesitate to ask Henry for freezing instructions!
Lastly, Harry of Wimbrow Farms says he is bringing a surprise next week. Do we want to see this – or NOT?!! I’m in; how about you?
Despite the heat and humidity, we had a huge turnout at 1,550. Everyone must have been in town and stocking up on all the goodies we have at our wonderful BBFM.
