In case there was any doubt, we are now smack dab in the Summer Swing!!

The weather has been near perfect for beachin’ it, and the Town is busting at the seams with vacationers from near and far! A record 2000 plus visited our Market on Sunday!

Our vendors brough literally tons of produce, including truckloads of peaches!

We have: corn, tomatoes, squash, cantaloupe, watermelon, kale, cukes, string beans, wax beans, lavender lemonade, flowers, soaps (breath!!), peppers of all flavors, pies, bread, pastries, awesome mushrooms, and the list goes on!!

We are a producers-only Market, and right now all of your favorite produce is exploding! Amazingly, our farmers’ backs are holding up to harvest the bounty!

Did I mention cherry tomatoes? Here’s an easy recipe if you are like me and can’t eat enough of fresh, local tomatoes to satisfy through the winter:

cherry tomatoes

Garlic Roasted Cherry Tomatoes

  • 2 – 10oz. containers cherry tomatoes
  • 6 garlic cloves, minced
  • 2 Tbsp. olive oil
  • 1 Tsp. kosher salt
  • 2 Tsp. fresh cracked black pepper

Mix all ingredients and spread into a baking pan. Bake at 375 degrees for 20-25 mins. Eat immediately over sink, or on top of pasta, pizza, grilled chicken, or whatever floats your boat!

The Market has a plethora of squash, including Zephyr Squash that has a slightly nutty taste, with a grass finish (are we critiquing wine?!) Summer screams for grilling, and keeping the heat outdoors!

squash

Try this yellow squash recipe:

  • Cut squash on the bias (diagonally).
  • Toss with olive oil, basil, oregano, minced garlic, salt and pepper.
  • Grill on medium high heat 4-6 minutes, turning once.

Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee perfect weather every Sunday, but we can guarantee oceans of local, fresh-as-it-gets produce! Don’t miss out! Shop early as many of your favorites may sell-out!
